Danaes Testimonial

The first time I saw a Dr Velez I was hugely doubtful that anything so basic as a chiropractic adjustment would help me. I had spent the summer getting into modeling shape with a friend and we were on an intensive running schedule (running 6 miles a day) and wow you should have seen what a great shape I was in! (I looked HOT! if I may say so myself!) But by the end of the summer I was feeling such pain in my right knee that I couldn’t run AT ALL, and I couldn’t even walk or stand for more than a few minutes at a time. I had diagnosed myself as having pulled a tendon, which, I believed, was simply going to take time to heal. So, I waited..I waited 3 weeks, and then tried wearing my high-heels again (it was a formal event for which anything other than heels wouldn’t have been appropriate); my knee hurt within minutes and I had to spend the whole evening sitting down. Then I waited 2 more weeks and tried walking in a new pair of tennis shoes with special supports; I couldn’t manage more than a mile. Then I waited a couple more weeks!.until I began to grow impatient!. I could see I was losing muscle mass, and I didn’t want the pounds to pile up), so I tried to run again; only to find that I couldn’t run more than a tenth of a mile before the pain returned and stopped me in my tracks. (I was so frustrated! I couldn’t enjoy eating a brownie because I knew I couldn’t just go ‘run it off’ anymore! I had visions of remaining in my disabled state the rest of my life and I was only 23-years old!) Then, I saw a Dr Velez who spent 10 minutes adjusting me, and then gave me a series of stretching exercises to do daily. I followed the stretching and posture advice of my doctor, and, after about a week I decided to take a walk!..and I was feeling well, so, halfway through my walk I decided (skeptically) to try running….. well, much to my surprise, I ran, WITHOUT PAIN, 2 miles – all the way home! I’ve been happily running (and stretching, and seeing my chiropractor regularly) ever since! Danae Vlasse, Covina Last summer, my husband and I carried all our camping gear up a 10,000+ foot peak to camp at the summit. We had such a fabulous time! However, I should point out that we could never have done this a couple years ago and my husband’s back could never have carried ANYTHING (let alone a massive backpack stacked 4-feet-high full of sleeping bags, tent, mats, cooking supplies, and water for the weekend)! Not only did we accomplish this exciting trek, but our backs were not even sore afterwards! and we know that the health of our spines is owed entirely to the excellent care we received under Dr Velez.
